The new-technology Sikorsky S92 is now an established - and proven - aircraft in the world of SAR.
Specifically configured for SAR work, its power, speed and technical capabilities have already seen it build a hugely impressive track record in the most testing of conditions.
Equipped with the latest technology and equipment, it remains fully SAR capable regardless of mission.
CHC deploys four S92s as part of its contract with the UK MCA - aircraft that have already completed hundreds of missions and repeatedly showcased their ability to deliver across the spectrum of SAR tasks.
The S92s have consistently maintained an aircraft availability level in excess of 98%.

Key attributes:
- A top speed of 165kt (190mph) and a cruise speed of 145kt (167mph)
- The fitting of internal fuel tank can increase radius of action to 270nm (310 miles)
- High-speed twin hoist, with each cable capable of reaching 290 feet - and a lift capacity of up to 600lbs at speeds of 350 feet per minute
- Large cabin size of six feet in height
- Capable of taking firefighting or mountain rescue team in one lift without compromising SAR capability
- Cabin fitted out to allow paramedic level of medical care to be administered
- Ramp at rear of aircraft provides easy access for loading/unloading of medical/rescue equipment and personnel
- One of the first aircraft to comply fully with the FAA/JAA Part 29 safety regulations
